Peace starts within you - Yoga and Veganism Workshop

Yoga is the most ancient system invented for physical exercises. One could further argue that the Yogic philosophy is the origin of veganism as this is where „ahimsa“ – the concept of non-violence – was born. This workshop will discuss some theories in the Yogic philosophy that are related to non-violence – the highest principle in the Yogic philosophy, the inter-connectedness of all living beings and how Yoga plays a crucial part in the fastest growing social movement known as Veganism. Tinja will guide you through some practical breathing, meditation techniques and easy postures that help to control emotions and thoughts, in order to improve non-violent communication with others and maintain a peaceful mindset as an animal rights activist. About the speaker Tinja has been a Vegan since 2014. She is a certified Yoga teacher, vegan nutrition coach, happiness coach and Thai Yoga Massage specialist. Together with her partner, she has been organizing The Earthlings Experience, which was developed into The Kind Experience since end of 2017, numerous vegan potlucks and educational movie nights since 2016 in Amsterdam surrounding the topic of veganism. In 2017 she became a Yoga teacher as she wanted to spread happiness, peacefulness and healthy plant-based lifestyle further through the concepts of Yoga, particularly in the corporate world.
